Artist's Comments

I have a particular appreciation for the electronic music movement. Even today I prefer to compose tracks in a DOS based sequencer called Impulse Tracker. This is a a tribute to the art.

As a fellow MOD Tracker, I can appreciate this sentiment.. I still use trackers (although I use BUZZ now, but that still applies in a way.) Nice work, I like the style.... you kept it clean, something I probably would not have done (and I probably would've ruined it. :) )

This is a beautiful piece. One thing I can see is that the steam around the gears can overwhelm in some places as fog and steam isn't completely opaque. The inbetween shading is beautiful though a bit dark and hard to see, it is a personal thing but the background I feel could be a little brighter though the contrast to the violin bow is quite a stunning effect. I believe the colour scheme and old-world look to this piece give it just the right touch of drama. Overall an exsquisit piece, bravo ^_^

Clena lines, gentle tones, and creative assembly. Very nicely done.

This is not what I see when I think of electronic music. Even so, this picture really fits. Isn't that what art is for? To make us look at the world a different way? Good job!

You hit the nail on the head about art. But allow me to explain the inspiration. Techno music since its conception has taken on genres. As you may have noticed there isn't a "techno music" section in the music store. So really what I'm trying to capture here is the spirit of techno. In my description I mention my tracking history, which really embodies the introduction to synthesis as we know it, both in demoscene and in modern popular "electronica" as you call it. So to get to the point, this piece is about the bare bones of techno, not so much as techno as a music format but rather music and technology combined.

Hello fellow tracker! I am a former administrator of United Trackers! That's so rare that you were able to level with me due to your experience. I never really caught on to Buzz because the idea of generators and effects is foriegn to me. The type of person that understands Buzz can understand the equipment metaphor. I tried downloading your tracks from the site listed on your user page but unfortunately it was going to take approx 52 to download each even though I'm on broadband. I suggest you put your tracks on < a href="http://www.OSMusic.Net"> OSMusic.Net which is ran by former Trax In Space administrator Roncli for more bandwidth.

Hmm, I had the same problem at school today, I thought it was the bandwidth governor on the school servers (to prevent streaming and such).....I'll have to investigate that.....
Well, the equipment aspect, I just learned over time, but the main interfaces still work like an old fashioned tracker..... Oh btw, I was a member of United Trackers, although I wasn't very involved in it, I just registered and visited the site from time to time.....
